Used in 'a few' to mean a small number of people or things.

• I have a few friends in this city.
  Bu şehirde birkaç arkadaşım var.
• Can you wait a few minutes?
  Birkaç dakika bekleyebilir misin?

Used without 'a' to mean not many, or not as many as you would like.

• There are few cars on the road today.
  Bugün yolda az araba var.
• Very few people know about this beach.
  Bu plajı çok az kişi biliyor.

Used in 'quite a few' and 'a good few' to mean a fairly large number.

• Quite a few people came to the meeting.
  Toplantıya epey insan geldi.
• She has changed jobs quite a few times.
