A polite way of apologizing for something.

• My apologies for the delay.
• My apologies, I didn't see you there.

Used to admit that you have made a mistake or are responsible for something.

• I forgot the keys. My mistake.
• Oh, I sent it to the wrong person. My mistake.

Not important; not a problem.

• It's no big deal, really.
• I'm sorry I broke your pen. Oh, no big deal.

A sign or notice indicating that entry is not allowed.

• The sign said 'No Entry'.
• There was a 'No Entry' sign on the door.

Used to say that something is not surprising given the circumstances.

• Brian's whole body aches — no wonder, since he ran a marathon yesterday.
• No wonder you're cold — it's January and you're walking around without a coat!

An informal way to say that something is fine, or that there is no need to worry.

• Sorry I'm late! — No worries.
• No worries, I can do it later.

A polite reply when someone thanks you.

• "Thanks for your help." "Not at all."
• "Thank you so much for the lift." "Not at all, it was a pleasure."

Not to any great degree.

• Are you happy? Not really.
• Did you enjoy the film? Not really, no.

Used to accept something disappointing.

• Oh well, maybe next time.
• Oh well, that's life.

Being sold at a lower price than usual.

• These shoes are on sale.
• Everything is on sale this week.
