Used to say that something is possible but you are not sure.

• Maybe it will rain later, so take an umbrella.

• Maybe they'll come tomorrow, but I'm not sure.

Used to make a suggestion in a polite or careful way.

• Maybe you should see a doctor about that cough.

Used when giving a number or amount that is not exact.
